But, first here’s some important background of Sister Ruth Ann’s public life.

Born October 12, 1956, one of seven children in a disciplined christian home, to Reverend Andrew J. Latchison, Sr. and Missionary Lola Latchison, St. Louis, Missouri. She’s a distinguished graduate of Soldan High School and she also attended George Washington University.

Sister Ruth Ann, being well known for her amazing inner strength, unselfish attitude and unique ability to treat equally and without prejudice is an inspiration to the hundreds of people who have been touched by her life of service. Sister Ruth Ann has been sustained throughout her life by her faith and the love, support and encouragement of her family and countless friends and admirers.

She began singing at the age of 8. She has been singing for (44) years, and evangelizing for 26 years.

She has also performed in several productions and national tours, including the musical Isle of Dreams where she sang Rocky Road.

Sister Ruth Ann Latchison-Nichols has sang all over the country in theaters, halls, churches, including every major venue in St.Louis such as Powell Symphony Hall, The Fox Theater, Sheldon Memorial, Scottish Rite Cathedral, West Port Playhouse, The RiverPort Amphitheater, The Edward Jones Dome, and The American Center

She has been hailed ”Diva ” in St. Louis and the United States, and has been presented the coveted ”Great Gospel Singers” commemorative stamp plaque by the Postal Service, plus many more plaques, trophies, and certificates all over the country.

She has traveled in national gospel plays such as ”Be Careful What You Pray For”, as well as playing the title role of ”Mahalia ” in ”Believe I’ll Testify”, to mention a few.

Ruth Lachison-Nichols has been presented with the ”City of St. Louis Mayoiral Proclamation”, ”The Aldermanic Board Resolution”, and ”St. Louis County Executive Resolution” in October 2006.

She has lectured and/or performed in many colleges and universities such as “Duke”, “Howard”, “Washington University” and many more.

Sister Ruth Ann is married to Rev. Sam Nichols, and was the mother of one daughter, Esther Ruth (honors student), who was tragically killed in a car accident on May 3, 2006.

She is also the Founder/President of ”Youth on the Move Crusade, Inc.”, dedicated to meeting the holistic needs of the youth of the world regardless of race, creed, or color!

She is also the Founder/President of S.O.S. ”Seniors on Sunday”, an organization designed to provide assistance to senior citizens.
